He’s just as cute as our favorite 90s heartthrob.

Marky Mark brings all of the adorable good looks you desire. Just a tiny guy at slightly over 30lbs he’s the perfect medium size pup to add to your fun loving pack. And this little dude is absolutely a pack loving sort of guy. He LOVES other dogs. When the whole world feels a little overwhelming he seeks out comfort from those dogs and he’s guaranteed to quickly become instant friends. That’s how we found him at the shelter. Snuggled up with dogs he’d just met doing his best not to be terrified.

Marky came into the county shelter as a stray. Picked up in the small community of Lamont, Ca no one came looking for him and he lingered at the shelter. He quickly became sick and that coupled with the lack of adoption interest landed him on the euthanasia list. A sweet dog friendly boy was going to lose his life because no one wanted him. But we had just pulled his kennel mate Otis. When we found out Marky was at risk too one of our amazing foster families stepped up and Marky’s life was saved.

Although a touch shy Marky has quickly acclimated to foster life. He uses the doggie door with zero accidents, has perfect crate training skills and has loved every single dog he’s met. He’s super sweet and loves people too just needs a moment to feel comfortable. He then becomes a fun loving little guy who’s happy to follow the directions his humans give and listens well to redirection. Marky is ready to find his perfect family. We’d love to see him in a home with other kind dogs he’s can bond with and humans who will never give him up. He’s ready to find his lifetime of love with you! on

Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley’s Mutts:

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
  • All pets will be spayed or neutered
  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
