Sweet, sweet Dani like so many shepherd and shepherd blends she needed the lifeline rescue could give her. A good girl longing for human companionship she stood almost no chance of getting out of the shelter alive. Not because she wasn’t a good dog simply because there are so many just like her hoping to get their shelter break too. Dani quietly waited to be noticed and we saw this sweet, calm girl just hoping for her chance.

Dani had wonderful shelter notes. She was sweet, walked nicely on leash and basically never caused any problems. She’d been picked up as a stray 2 months prior and was out of time. With the sheer number of intakes our public shelters handle they just don’t have the space to hold dogs indefinitely and Dani was euthanasia listed. Without a rescue or adopter this wonderful girl would lose her life. We are so thankful we had the space in our Pawsitive Change program and Dani got the shelter break she so desperately needed.

Dani has opened up in Pawsitive Change and gained confidence she didn’t have. The calm reserved girl we met at the shelter is now playful and fun. Shes worked really hard on her leash skills around other dogs and while she’d do best as an only dog in the home she’s learned to walk calmly on leash even when other dogs are present. Dani loves every human she’s met and craves all the positive human affection she’s currently getting. She’s absolutely a people pleaser and works really hard to understand the rules and tasks put before her. Now with her time in Pawsitive Change coming to a close it’s Dani’s turn to find the perfect home. Interested in giving this sweet girl a family? Fill out her application and our adoption team will schedule a time for you to meet her in person. She just may be your perfect fit!

Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley’s Mutts:

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
  • All pets will be spayed or neutered
  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
