Not every dog who needs a home can give you a lifetime but that home for each and every dog gives them a life worth living. At 15 years old sweet Archie just wants the comforts a good home can provide. A soft warm bed, lots of good food and people who care enough to love him for the time he has left. This sweet boy has all the ailments you’d expect in a super senior pup. His vision is pretty limited, he’s lost his hearing and his sweet little heart is slowly failing him. We’re keeping him comfortable and happy in foster care but he deserves to have his own home as a cherished member of a family. Do you have a really big heart? Archie is hoping that really big heart will give him his chance.
We don’t know much about Archie’s past or really why he ended up at the shelter but shelter life is so hard on the seniors. It’s loud, uncomfortable and we’re sure super scary. Seniors are overlooked by most adopters and almost never make it out alive. Archie needed the time rescue could give him and when one of our amazing fosters said yes this sweet boy got his chance.
Archie has settled right in to foster care and is a happy little dude. He’s great with the other dogs in his foster home and loves every human he’s met. Even with his limited vision he gets around well and his favorite parts of every day are meal times and endless naps. He loves all the soft warm spaces, human attention and affection and is just grateful to be alive. Archie is currently on heart meds which he will need to take for life and is potty trained when taken out every couple of hours. We are hopeful this sweet old guy can find an adopter willing to let him live out his life with care and dignity. He may not have a whole lifetime to give but he promises to fill your heart with so much love for the time he has left.

Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley’s Mutts:
- Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
- Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
- All pets will be spayed or neutered
- All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
- Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)
It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.
We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.
It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.
If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.
Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.
If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
