So incredibly shy but equally as sweet Stevie longs for human kindness. Her body bears the wear and tear of a past that wasn’t kind and bits of kindness is all this beautiful girl wants. People to trust, a bit of affection, a lap to crawl in to and a safe and loving home to call her own. It takes her a little while to fully trust. It’s hard when people have never been kind but once she does she’s all in and you’ll have a soulmate for life. The most amazing soulmate who will forever be devoted because you were willing to give her a chance.
Stevie’s past is unknown but what we do know is all the things we can see. She was picked up as a stray and had obviously been bred many times. She lingered at the shelter for a month. Too shy to be noticed too shy to interest adopters. Once on the euthanasia list for lack of interest we just couldn’t let this sweet girl die. She deserved a chance at a good life and deserved to feel the kind of love no one had ever been willing to give her. So Stevie is now out of the shelter and safe at our rescue ranch where she is just starting to learn how good so many people can be.
Stevie may be slow to trust and shy with strangers but once she feels secure with you she gives you her all. She’s 100% a Velcro dog and perfectly content just being with you. Stevie is dog friendly but can be shy with new dogs too. She prefers the company of calm non-pushy canine friends as the rowdier pups tend to overwhelm her. She tested well with cats and is ready to find her perfect home. A home willing to give her the time she needs to trust and a forever filled with kindness and love.

- Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
- Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
- All pets will be spayed or neutered
- All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
- Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)
It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.
We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.
It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.
If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.
Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.
