Meet our very own Pablo Picasso! Complete with the wonky ears his breed blend gives him a look all his own. Not quite doxie and not quite chihuahua he’s a goofy mashup of the two. And this little guy is a lover guaranteed to charm even the hardest of hearts. He’s super sweet although a bit shy and needs just a moment to warm up to new people (especially large men). Once he does he loves being picked up and is absolutely down for ALL the cuddles. Picasso is dog friendly with both large and small breed pups and while he can totally live with kitties he will chase if they run. Some kitties might not enjoy this but if the kitty is the type to stand their ground Picasso is respectful and will leave them alone.

Picasso was picked up as a stray by his foster family. A Good Samaritan was letting him live in a kennel in her front yard but Picasso kept wandering and trying his luck with the neighborhood traffic. It was a super unsafe situation and rather than watch Picasso get hit by a car our foster brought him into her care. A stray hold was completed but sadly Picassos previous family never looked for or claimed him. Picasso was just thankful to have his chance and quickly settled into foster life.

Picasso is house and crate trained in his foster home. He rides fantastic in the car and loves going for neighborhood walks. He’s really good on leash and up for pretty much any fun adventure you have planned. His hobbies include burrowing under blankets, short walks, watching chick flicks, and doing tricks for treats.

He’s a really good boy who’s now ready to find his perfect forever home. If you think that might be you fill out his application and our adoption team will get you scheduled to meet him in person. We’re pretty sure you won’t be able to resist the adorableness that is Picasso!

Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley’s Mutts:

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
  • All pets will be spayed or neutered
  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
