Is there anything more magical than a Hippogriff? Well do we have one of these wondrous beasts just for you! He’s whimsical, gentle and kind and ready to be your very best friend. Won’t you give our Hippogriff the home he’s been waiting for? He’s a really good boy despite everything he’s been through and ready to spread a little of the magic he readily gives to a family most in need.

His happy calm spirit is what caught our eye and also what saved his life. Hippogriff spent almost 2 months waiting for his chance at our county shelter. 2 months without solid adoption interest. 2 months of hoping and continued rejection. He’d come in to the shelter significantly underweight but maintained his trust that people were good. We’re sure the story he holds would be enough to break any dog but not this amazing Hippogriff. He loves everyone both human and dog alike. That trust and his happiness despite everything he’d been through quickly made him a staff favorite and after extensive networking one of our foster families gave this incredible boy the chance he so desperately needed.

Hippogriff has never looked back. He instantly embraced his new life in foster care and is the amazing dog everyone knew he was going to be. Easygoing with a playful side. He’s respectful and happy to do whatever you have planned for the day. He’s great on leash, travels perfectly in the car and has been non reactive to even the most negative of canine energies he’s encountered. He’s an all around good boy who loves humans of all sizes and wants so desperately to be apart of a family and home. If you’ve been looking for a magical creature your search is over. We’ve found the most amazing Hippogriff of all and he’s ready and waiting to go home with you! Hippogriff is currently fostered in Santa Barbara county but is happy to make any location his new home. Please apply on our website or in the linktree in our bio to make this special boy part of your family.

Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley’s Mutts:

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
  • All pets will be spayed or neutered
  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
