An Oldie but a Goodie that is exactly what Valor lives to be. What an incredible dog this sweet boy is. Unfazed by the negatives life has thrown his way instead he chooses to live in the moment and live for the joy of living! He’s absolutely an ambassador for his breed and everything we love about Pit Bulls. He has a positive outlook on life and loves everyone he’s met both human and dog alike. You won’t get a more happy or social dog. What he’s overcome is heartbreaking but what he continues to be is nothing short of remarkable.
As one of the 50+ hoarding dogs out of California City rescue Pawfect Companions Valor has every reason to hate humans. Starved until he was skeletal and forced to live in a wire crate until wounds covered his lower extremities Valor and every other dog on the property were seized by animal control and survived with their lives barely intact. They were lucky to be alive and even luckier so many rescues stepped up to help. Valor has never looked back instead embracing his new future with the vigor only 2nd chances can provide.
Valor is one of the sweetest, bubbliest, most gentle old men we’ve ever met. But don’t let his older age fool you though. Sure, he LOVES his naps, but he is one spry, happy go lucky dude when he gets out in the field and around other dogs and people. He is such an adorable goofball and always has a pep in his step as he prances alongside his humans during his walks. His favorite past times are sunbathing on his deck, exploring all of the scents around the ranch, and socializing with people and other dogs. He’s such a happy guy and we absolutely adore him! After everything he’s been through he deserves the very best of homes and that’s what we’re determined to find. A home where he never has to worry about his future again.
Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley's Mutts:
Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
All pets will be spayed or neutered
All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)
It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.
We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.
It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.
If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.
Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.
If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
