Misty

Sex: Female

Breed: Spaniel x

Estimated Date of Birth : 09/02/2014

Sweet, calm and the perfect little senior Misty is a doll. She’s good with both her canine and kitty friends and loves to follow her foster mom all over the house. She has the easy going energy level you’d expect with a senior pup and has quickly acclimated to foster care. She’s learned how to use the doggy door and potty pads, is learning to come when called and is just starting to get snuggly. She is as quiet as a mouse and the only time we’ve heard her little bark is when the gardeners arrive. She loves blankets and soft warm beds and is happiest just being with you. Shes a content little girl and it won’t take much to give her an enjoyable life. She loves the simple things.

Misty was part of a group of 13 senior dogs who lost their long time rescuer when she went on hospice. She was no longer able to care for her animals and they all needed a soft place to land. All 13 are now in foster care with us and waiting for loving forever homes. Misty has quickly settled into foster care and is ready to find her forever home. A home that knows she isn’t a young dog but still has lots of love to give a family willing to look beyond her age. Could you be Misty’s perfect family?

Misty is wonderful with everyone she’s met but definitely prefers not to share food with other dogs. She will grumble and tell them to back off if they encroach on her space while she is eating. She attaches quickly to her humans and can also be a little possessive over sharing lap space. Misty wants nothing more than a home to call her own and would be an easy addition to a multi species house. If you’re looking for an adorable little senior please consider adding Misty to your family.

Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley's Mutts:

  • Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook

  • Each pet will have its own profile here on the website

  • All pets will be spayed or neutered

  • All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date

  • Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)

It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.

We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.

It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.

If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.

Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.

If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
