Jocko is as sweet as he looks. This boy is a total lover. A lover of all the good things people bring. Snuggles, attention, strolls through the neighborhood. If he’s doing it with you he loves everything about it! He’s super duper affectionate and is the type of dog guaranteed to be in tune with his people. He has a nice moderate energy level that will work for most families and is fantastic on leash. Basically a dream dog!
This lover boy sadly found himself at our county shelter after he was picked up as a stray. He had scars on his legs and a few gunshot pellets were discovered during an X-ray . Even with how hard his life must have been this boy has the most AMAZING temperament. He’s always happy and that’s why shelter staff and volunteer networkers fought so hard to get him out of the shelter alive. After 60 days devastated shelter staff added him to the euthanasia list. We couldn’t let such a great dog die simply due to space so when one of our fosters opened up their home Jocko’s life was instantly saved.
This sweet boy has never looked back. Jocko is not only people friendly but he was a play yard star at the shelter and did great with his kennel mates. He’s non reactive and has done well with the dogs we’ve introduced him to at the ranch and overall just an easy and good boy. We adore his beyond sweet personality and can’t wait to find him the perfect home. If you want a dog that will be both devoted and extremely affectionate Jocko is definitely the pup for you!

Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
All pets will be spayed or neutered
All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)
It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.
We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.
It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.
If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.
Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.
