Yes there are perfect dogs in rescue and Nova is one of them! This sweet girl had such a tough past but remains so incredibly gentle and kind. She has the type of mellow disposition that would work in most homes. She’s extremely people oriented and very dog friendly. We love everything about her temperament and then add in her stunning beauty and we’ll never understand how or why she ended up at the shelter and why her previous family didn’t see her value.
Nova was a repeat resident at the shelter. She was there in October 2023 and then came back in March 2024. The 2nd time she arrived she gave birth to a litter of puppies. This poor girl was failed by her humans but Nova just took her reality in stride. She was an amazing mom and raised her puppies in the shelter environment. Once her puppies were raised and all adopted Nova sat and waited for her chance at adoption. That chance never came and with massive shelter overcrowding Nova had run out of time. She needed a miracle and we gave her just that!
One of our amazing foster families said yes to several euthanasia listed dogs and lucky for Nova she was in that group. This sweet girl jumped at her chance and hasn’t looked back. Nova has continued to amaze us with her resilience and perfection. Shes so easy and so nice. With her past we’d expect some baggage or behavioral issues but she has none. She’s confident, crate trained, good on leash. She’s social, happy, affectionate and even a little talkative. She’s perfect and we hope you see that too! Nova deserves her chance to find the perfect home.

All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)
It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.
We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.
It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.
If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.
Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.
