The most joyous girl ever is also the luckiest! Meet Mist. She is beauty, brains and happy go lucky energy all rolled into one! This sweet girl has really been through it all and still comes out smiling. She has this contagious spirit that’s hard to resist. We can guarantee her enthusiasm for life will be infectious the moment you meet. She’s the type of dog that reminds us that positivity always wins and the worst moments have the potential to transform into the very best. Mist is the dog we wish more humans would be like!
Her positive outlook on life doesn’t mean Mist’s life has been easy. On the contrary she’s lived an existence marred with pain and abandonment. Picked up as a stray by our county shelter she waited over a month for her family to claim her. They never did. With no adoption interest she was slated for euthanasia. We got her out just in time and quickly realized she was hiding a painful secret. She had a broken back femur. We got her the surgery she needed and Mist in true to herself fashion has been joyful and happy through it all! This girl is going to be such an amazing dog for an active and fun loving family.
Mist wants to be everyone’s best friend. From the humans she’s met to the dogs she hasn’t been able to play with just yet (surgery restrictions are just no fun!). Shes all play bows and silly goofy energy. We don’t think she’s ever had a bad day and always chooses to make the best out of what life has thrown her way. We are so thankful this sweet girl is finally going to live her life to the fullest and we’re determined to find her the perfect home. An active home with older kids and maybe a canine pal or two. Mist gives the very best hugs is working on her leash manners and has mastered crate training. We’d love to see her paired up with a family who will continue her training and give her all the love and incredible adventures she missed out on the 1st year of her life. If that family is you please consider giving Mist the wonderful life she was meant to have.
Here’s what you need to know about adopting a cat or dog from Marley's Mutts:
Each adoptable pet will be introduced on Facebook
Each pet will have its own profile here on the website
All pets will be spayed or neutered
All pets will be micro-chipped and shots will be up-to-date
Each pet has their own application to complete—make sure you use the right one (linked from their bio)
It’s important to us that each pet goes not just to a great home but to the “right” home. Our foster parents work with each pet to get to know them and their needs.
We try hard to list all of the pertinent info about each pet on the site so you can choose the pet that will fit with your family/lifestyle. If you don’t see a specific pet on the site, he/she is not ready for adoption. Please be patient and wait until the bio is listed. We don’t decide on a “first come, first served” basis but rather on a “who’s the very best fit.” So, don’t panic.
It’s not a quick process. We receive dozens of applications for each pet so please be patient. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be contacted as soon as possible.
If selected to meet one of our pets and you currently have pets, you’ll be asked to do an in-person pet intro; we don’t do the long-distance adoption thing. If you live out of town, plan a fun road trip to meet the pet in person.
Don’t be discouraged if your application is not selected. Remember, we get a lot of them! Trust us, the best fit for you is coming.
If you’re lucky and you do adopt a super amazing pet from Marley’s Mutts, don’t ever hesitate to reach out to us for training, medication, or behavior questions. We’re here for you, and your pet.
