Lizzie Lou of was rescued from a local shelter along with her five puppies. She was labeled aggressive for trying protecting her sick babies in a scary loud place. The shelter staff was able to retrieve the puppies so that we could get them into another foster home and get them healthy. Lizzie had mastitis which meant she couldn't be reunited with her pups and took a while to clear up the painful infection. After getting out of the scary shelter environment and a round of antibiotics Lizzy's personality is shining through!  She has the sweetest, most delicate personality, that has integrated seamlessly into her foster moms pack. Lizzie isn't very confident but thankfully she is very curious. Lizzie has requested a semi active home that will be patient while she learns the ways of a loving home.  Someone who is willing to be patient with her at first and introduce her to new things in the outside world and show her that its not a big scary place.  Lizzie will only continue to thrive and grow with the right people showing her the way in life.  If you would like to adopt Lizzie, please apply to adopt her today!

Welcome Max to the Pawsitive Change Prison Program!  Max was an owner surrender at the South Los Angeles shelter as a senior dog.  Pretty upsetting for an older guy to be dumped without knowing what was going on after a life of being someone's friend.  Since he is a senior Chihuahua not trusting a soul after that, we knew he would be perfect for our prison program as it was probably the only change he had at survival.  Max has thrived while inside the program for the better and has started trusting humans again.  We think Max would do best in a nice quiet calm home to spend his remaining days out.  Max is a very obedient little guy who would love nothing more than finding someone who he can snuggle up with and be a lab hound.  If you would like to give this wonderful senior guy his forever home, please apply to adopt him today!

Kiwi is a teeny tiny 6lb chihuahua with a huge personality! She loves her toys, treats, endless playing with her foster siblings and laying in the sun. She’s crate trained, house trained, walks well on a leash and we are still working on teaching her that the doggy door doesn’t bite haha.  Kiwi has been around children and does well with them as long as they understand her boundaries. So a home with children that are a little older would be best.  She isn’t a typical lap dog like most chihuahua’s are. Kiwi has her own agenda and finds where she feels comfortable to nap. Whether it be a dog bed, her crate or any other place she feels is cozy.
She does get overwhelmed at times and her little/big attitude comes out so she needs a home that is willing to keep working with her on that.  This little cutie is housebroken, crate trained and now walks well on a leash.  She does have luxated patellas on her rear legs, but they do not require surgery at this time and are not causing her any pain.  It is a common issue with a lot of small breed dogs.  If you are looking for a tiny dog with a lot of spunk, please apply to adopt Kiwi today!

Welcome back Guppy to the mutt militia!  Guppy was adopted out this past summer to a nice family but he became afraid of the man of the house and wanted to hide.  We took him back in to look for a new home that better suits his needs.   Guppy was found and rescued by a fellow rescue organization in Downtown LA. He was extremely emaciated and need ACL surgery to help his hind legs. After a couple of surgeries and lot’s of TLC, he is all healed up from it.   Guppy is an absolute love of a dog, he loves to play but is absolutely content with just napping and taking it easy. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and will follow them in order to get acclimated to the house rules. He does amazingly well in a crate and will wait to be invited out. He is a gentle bear that needs guidance in order to thrive. He's great with kids, but will can knock over toddlers when he gets excited.  So a home with smaller kids would be better suited for him.  Even though Guppy does amazingly well with humans and doggies of all shapes and sizes, he does not do well with cats and other small creatures. He is wary of them and becomes very tense. Guppy walks great on a leash but does get excited when seeing other dogs. With the right human and the right guidance, he quickly learns to follow and calm down in order to meet other dogs.  If you would like to give this big love bug his forever home, please apply to adopt him today!
